Continuous Professional Development 

CPD is a learning programme that helps trustees to maintain and nurture their skills and competencies. As a registered professional body, Batseta is authorised to offer a CPD programme to designated trustees within the retirement fund industry.

CPD Hour Requirement

​

A recognised CPD programme is linked to the time spent by trustees for professional development. One (1) hour spent on any training activity equals 1 CPD point. There are prescribed hours of learning linked to the role of a trustee. Designated trustees must complete at least 40 hours CPD within a two year period to maintain their designation.

CPD Activities​

  • CPD activities could be both informal and formal (Examples include, seminars, conferences, readings, workshops, skills programmes, full qualifications, short courses, self-study)

  • There should be a blend of activities

  • A CPD training plan must be submitted for each year detailing all planned activities (Knowledge, skills, behaviours, reflective practices)

  • Dependent on membership status, members must complete 40 hours during a 2-year reporting cycle (1 hour equals 1 CPD point)
